A 17-year-old boy from the Thonikal region of Vavuniya district gone missing after he went for a nearby temple.
The boy’s father has lodged a missing complaint with the Vavuniya police station early today (October 08).
According to the complaint, the boy had left the home yesterday morning saying that he was visiting a nearby temple. However, he did not return home till last night.
The abductions, missing incidents are widely common in the North, Eastern region of Sri Lanka even after the end of the war in 2009. A former senior member of the LTTE Political Wing and the Development Officer of Kopai Divisional Secretariat Manikkam Jeyakumar had gone missing on September 28, and was later found dead in a mysterious way.
