Sri Lankan health care workers are actively participated in a one day strike demanding the government to ensure better working conditions and protesting against the government’s decision to cut the Covid-19 allowance.
Health care workers from war-affected North and Eastern regions of Sri Lanka were also involved in the strike.
“Members of 41 health sector trade unions in #SriLanka walked out of their workplaces today (8) at 7am launching an islandwide one day strike action demanding better working conditions & to protest government‘s decision to slash special #COVID19 allowance,” Journalists for Democracy in Sri Lanka tweeted.
