Sri Lanka: Cabinet reshuffle in the time of health crisis

Today, Sri Lanka President Gotabaya Rajapaksa reshuffled the cabinet of ministers with seven key portfolios, including health, education, power, and transport during the time of health crisis.

Minister of Health Pavithra Wanniarachchi was sworn in as the Transport Minister, while Keheliya Rambukwella sworn in as the new Health Minister.

Other changes are:

GL Pieris – Minister of Foreign Affairs
Dinesh Gunawardena – Minister of Education
Gamini Lokuge – Minister of Power
Dullas Allahapperuma – Minister of Mass Media
Pavithra Wanniarachchi – Minister of Transport
Keheliya Rambukwella – Minister of Health

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa’s son Namal Rajapaksa will take on a new role as minister of development coordination and supervision and his existing portfolio of sports and youth affairs.
