Sri Lanka: About a lakh of acres of Tamils’ lands occupied

Sri Lanka’s Buddhisation activity in Kurundur Hills of Mullaitivu, Northern Province, has once again triggered a question on ‘Sri Lank’s growing occupation in Tami home land.’

Former Northern Provincial Council member Durairasa Ravikaran says his intention to file a case on Kurundur Hills to worship. “I will file a case in the Kurundur hill area to worship and to perform pujas there.”

Sri Lanka’s forest department, archaeology department have encroached the lands of the Tamil people. The people also lost their lands to the Weli Oya project and Sri Lankan security forces.

According to my calculations, over one lakh, six thousand and one hundred acres of Tamils have encroached.
