Mullaitivu Press Club leader S.Thavaseelan has told the District Commander about the checkpoint where journalists were detained by the soldiers.
On the road from Mulliyavalai to Mullaitivu, at the soldiers check post on the 3rd block, a series of incidents have been reported since 20.05.21 when many media persons were showing street media personnel identified themselves and were repulsed by the soldiers standing in the road.
Because of this many journalists from the Mullaitivu district could not go to cover the news.
The reporters told Mullaitivu District Army Commander Maj. Gen. Upul Rajapaksa, about Checkpoint in Block 03.
It is noteworthy that journalists were then allowed to pass through the soldiers’ street checkpoint.
