War criminal’s daughter’s song is BJP’s theme song in elections

Sri Lankan singer Yohani de Silva’s “Menike Maga Hithe” which had taken the Indian music scene by storm, is now being used by the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to boost the prospects of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in the forthcoming Uttar Pradesh State Assembly elections, Newsin reported.

Uttar Pradesh, among India’s largest States, will go to the polls on February 10. Polling will end on March 7.

Though the strongest contender in the Uttar Pradesh elections, the BJP is clearly taking nothing for granted given the economic setback due to the COCID 19 pandemic, fall in production of goods and services and unrest in the agricultural sector.

But in brilliant moves, the BJP’s poll wizards have harnessed every popular brand to sell their party in the competitive political marketplace. Even young Sri Lankan singing sensation Yohani de Silva’s hit “Manike Mage Hithe” has not been overlooked.

The singer, who faced criticism over her repeated public praise of her father – Sri Lankan army Major General Prasanna De Silva who is yet another a military commander credibly accused of overseeing war crime.

The United nations has classified most of the Sri Lankan military’s high ranking officers as war criminals who killed thousands of civilians in no-fire zones, hospitals and responsible for thousands of enforced disappearances of Tamil civilians.

North Indians show their anti-Tamils behaviours to suppress Tamils and they are always supporting Sinhalese. North Indians dominated Indian government do not support war crime and human rights violations accountability as well.
