“Batticaloa District Court, Monday (9) ordered to transfer the investigation into the murder of Mahalingam Balasundaram to a separate police unit. 34-year-old tipper truck driver was shot to death on June 21, by a policeman attached to security unit of State Minister S.Viyalendiran,” JDS (Journalists for Democracy in Sri Lanka) tweeted.
Viyalendiran is a State Minister of Backward Rural Areas Development and Promotion of Domestic Animal Husbandry and Minor Economic Crop Cultivation of the Sri Lankan Government under President Gotabaya Rajapaksa.
