Sri Lankan army constructs Buddhist school inside Hindu temple premises

The Sri Lankan army has begun the construction work of a Buddhist religious school – inside the Bhadrakali Amman temple premises of Trincomalee, Eastern Province. 

Tamil community has observed this activity as part of state-sponsored Sinhala- Buddhist colonisation activity in the Tamil homeland. 

“Colonel Wasantha Hewage, Commander – 233 Brigade accordingly on September 20 during a brief ceremony, laid the cornerstone for the construction of this new study centre for the teaching of religion (Dhamma School) in the Kovil premises, adhering to sanitary facilities. The Commander, 233 Brigade and the Civil Affairs Officer – 233 Brigade will supervise the project until its completion,” said in a Sri Lankan Army’s press release.

The Sri Lankan government has been continuously encouraged colonisation activity in the North and East through the official funds amid the pandemic and economic crisis.
