Sri Lanka reached its peak capacity to treat Covid patients : Health Minister

Sudarshini Fernandopulle, Minister of State for Primary Health Care, Infectious Diseases and Covid Prevention, has warned that there is a risk of shortage of space in Sri Lankan hospitals.

While commenting on the corona conditions in the country the Minister said, the number of patients in Sri Lankan hospitals has reached its peak. As the capacity of the hospitals in the country is very less, and the number of emergency units is very less. People should avoid unnecessary travel.

Sudarshini Fernandopulle has also said, that after taking the PCR test people should quarantine themselves till they get the result.

Currently, 16,720 Covid patients have been treated in Sri Lankan hospitals.
