A demonstration was held yesterday demanding legal documents for the 37,000 plantation houses built since 1987.
The demonstration was held in front of the Nuwaraeliya Main Post Office by the Kandy Community Development Corporation and some civil organizations.
We want separate houses, 37,000 thousand houses have been guaranteed, and plantation workers raised slogans as citizens of this country and participated in the protest.
Also, efforts were made to collect signatures on a petition to be handed over to the Sri Lankan President requesting the issuance of title deeds to houses built on plantations after 1987.
