Tamil Parliamentarian Selvam Adaikalanathan has expressed his worry about rising prices of essential commodities in Mannar, Vavuniya, Mullaitivu districts amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
In a letter to Sri Lankan Trade Minister Bandula Gunawardane, MP says, “My electoral districts of Mannar, Vavuniya and Mullaitivu are in a situation where no goods can be availed at the fixed price or controlled price for essential commodities.”
“No government officials seem to be coming forward to look into the matter. Even though the government fixes the price of goods, all the goods are sold at prices that are different from those fixed.”
