Former member of the Election Commission, Jeevan Thiagarajah, has been appointed as the Governor of the Northern Province, the Sri Lankan President’s Media Division said.
Governors appointed by the Sri Lankan government in war-affected North and Eastern Provinces are known for their pro-government, pro-military activities such as land grabbing, sinhalisation, militarisation.
Thiagarajah took his oath as the Governor of Northern Province before accused War Criminal and President Gotabaya Rajapaksa at the Presidential Secretariat yesterday.
