Express Peters CEO Smal Yatskwitz for the loss of livelihood and environment

The CEO of the company that operated the Express Pearl ship has apologized for the loss of livelihood and environment in Sri Lanka due to the shipwreck.

In an interview with CNA, Express Peters CEO Smal Yatskwitz apologized and expressed deep concern.

He said he had enlisted the help of international environmental experts to monitor the situation following the ship’s fire.

“We are working with the Sri Lankan authorities and have provided heavy machinery to clean up the coastal areas,” he said.

Smal Yatskwitz also said, “I apologize to the people of Sri Lanka for the damage caused to livelihoods and the environment by this incident and express my deep concern.”
