A protest demanding the wage increase and calling an end to the militarization of free education through the Kotelawala National Defence University (KNDU) Bill happened in Mannar, Northern Province.
The Mannar Chancellors’ and Professors’ Union organized this protest, hundreds of chancellor and professors across Mannar attended it.
The protesters holding the placards with the slogans, “Don’t foist burdens upon teachers!,” “Don’t continue to betray chancellors and professors!,” “Oh government! Stop attempting to muddle the protests through subterfuge!”
