Drinking water crisis deepens in Mullaitivu village

Tamil People are expressing concern over the Puthukudiyiruppu Pradeshiya Sabha, which does not properly carry out the water supply.

The Northern Provincial Council constructed a water tank to meet the drinking water needs of the people of Selvapuram in The Hindupuram Grama Niladhari Division under Puthukudiyiruppu Pradeshiya Sabha limits in Mullaitivu district.

The development work for the proposed water supply project, constructed under the direct supervision of The Puthukudiyiruppu Pradeshiya Sabha, was completed in 2017 and handed over to the Former Chairman of Puthukudiyiruppu Pradeshiya Sabha Premakanthan by former MP Shanthi Sriskantharajah and former Chief Minister C V Vigneswaran.

The project failed after six months, and the people of the area are wandering around to meet the drinking water requirements, and many families have been forced to pay for the bottled water.
