Department of Archeology preparing for land acquisition in Vavuniya

Vavuniya Regional Archaeological Department officials have recently carried out excavations in the Kodaliparichchan forest area of ​​the Nainamadu village officer Division under the Vavuniya North Divisional Secretariat.

The Army has informed the Archaeological Department about the ruins of a building with about 8 rock towers, structures with rock foundations, and a 5-meter high pillar in the reserved forest area in Nainamadu.

The area has been recently inspected by the Vavuniya District Archaeological Department. However, no information has been given to the Village officers or the villagers in this regard.

The Director of the Department of Archeology said that archeological remains related to the Buddhist temple have been found there and that the area has been notified in the Gazette and archeological excavations will be carried out.

The Department of Archeology, which has already invaded the Nedungeni Vedukunari Hills, is preparing to resume its invasion of Nainamadu, the native land of the Tamils. The information about the archeology excavation has made discomfort between the villagers.
