146,700 Tamils were missing during the war in 2009

A total of 146,600 people have been reported missing since the 2009 war. The struggle of our relations is to bring lasting peace to this country.

It was based on the need for an internationally acceptable solution. The losses and damages that our race has suffered for 70 years are irreparable by any government. The Sri Lankan President has said that death certificates will be issued to all those who went missing.

What is the background to this? The question arises as to whether all the missing persons in this country are dead. If so, a just solution must be provided to these people.

We want to be citizens of this country and live with equal rights as any other community,” TNA MP Thavarasa Kalaiyarasan told in the Sri Lankan parliament.
