What took place in Sri Lanka was genocide! – British MPs accused

A meeting was held last Thursday (29) by the British Tamil forum for an effort to seek justice for the Tamil people.

The meeting was attended by British ministers, more than 40 British parliamentarians, party leaders, human rights organizations, international organizations, Tamil diaspora organizations and journalists.

British MP Mr. John Mann Labor party Member of parliamentarian for Bassetlaw Nottinghamshire, stressed the need for an international inquiry into the genocide in Sri Lanka with the assistance of the United Nations.

He noted that the ongoing genocide against the Tamil people in Sri Lanka following World War II had increased in the past and that this was unacceptable. He also called on the international community to take action to bring justice to the Tamil people.

Meanwhile, the British Tamil forum is working to mobilize international support for justice for the genocide in Sri Lanka.  Expressing his support, Wales Ogmore Labor MP Huw Irranca Davies (Shadow Minister Environment, Food and Rural Affairs) handed over a petition to the British Prime Minister.

He called for an international inquiry into the genocide of the Tamil people in Sri Lanka and called on the British Prime Minister and Secretary of State to continue to press for a speedy trial.

He said he would continue to press for justice for the people affected by the genocide, and expressed hope that the petition submitted to the British Prime Minister would pave the way for further progress in the investigation.

Meanwhile, Mr. Howranza Davis, a British Labor MP, was also present at a meeting organized by the British Tamil forum to seek justice for the Tamil people.
