US State Dept. official meets Sri Lankan foreign secretary

US State Department official Kelly Keiderling is in Sri Lanka for talks with local leaders and officials. She also met with Sri Lankan foreign secretary Jayanath Colombage to discuss ways to improve our long-standing partnership.

The US Embassy in Colombo said the business connections between the US – LKA are a key part of our relationship. Deputy Asst Secretary Kelly Keiderling of the Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs met with The American Chamber of Commerce in Sri Lanka to understand Sri Lanka’s business climate. She asked about ways we can partner to harness Sri Lanka’s potential and promote inclusive economic policies.

Keiderling met with Sri Lankan foreign secretary Jayanath Colombage to discuss ways to improve our long-standing partnership with SriLanka. So much potential to expand development, people-to-people ties, and post-pandemic recovery.

Keiderling is the South and Central Asian Affairs Bureau’s deputy assistant secretary for public diplomacy and Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal, and Sri Lanka.
