Antonio Guterres, Secretary General of the United Nations (UN) has stated that he is closely monitoring the prevailing situation in Sri Lanka.
Coming to Twitter on Thursday, July 14, the UN chief further said “It is important that the root cause of the conflict and the protesters’ grievances are addressed”
Moreover, he urged all party leaders to embrace the sprit of compromise for a peaceful and democratic transition.
