TNA strongly condemns Sri Lankan president’s speech

TNA leader R Sampanthan has expressed his strong opposition to Basil Rajapaksa in parliament, outraged by President Gotabhaya Rajapakse’s failure to address a political solution to the ethnic crisis or constitutional reform in his speech yesterday (18).

The Tamil National alliance also boycotted a tea party hosted by the Sri Lankan president in parliament. “This speech of President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa is just rubbish. None of that.”

Sampanthan, the leader of the Tamil National Alliance (TNA), told Basil Rajapaksa, the president’s brother and finance minister, “Go ahead and tell the president this.” “I’m avoiding tea party just to avoid that. Nothing was said in this talk about the national issues of our country.

Go and tell him you will not be formed a stable country if this issue is not resolved,” Sampanthan said angrily, according to parliamentary sources.
