Eelam Tamil refugees detained in a special camp at Trichy, Tamil Nadu have attempted suicide. Tension prevailed when 15 people tried to commit suicide after taking a sleeping pill and scratching their stomachs with knives.
More than 80 people from various countries, including Sri Lanka, have been detained in a special camp at Trichy prison.
Eelam Tamil refugees detained in the camp had staged a series of protests demanding their release as trials against them were not being carried out due to the corona pandemic.
