Batticaloa: Tamil man shot dead by Minister’s securtity officer 

Protests have erupted in Batticaloa, Eastern Province of Sri Lanka yesterday, after a Sri Lankan Ministerial Security Division (MSD) officer attached to ruling government parliamentarian, Sathasivam Viyalendiran shot dead a Tamil man.

Viyalendran is a State Minister of Backward Rural Areas Development and Promotion of Domestic Animal Husbandry and Minor Economic Crop Cultivation of the Government under President Gotabaya Rajapaksa. 

One person was killed in a firing by the state minister’s security officer yesterday. The local Tamil People are involved in the protest against the incident and expressing their  opposition by burning portraits of State Minister Viyalendran.
