Teachers’ union action will continue if the SL govt fails to meet demands, says Unionist Stalin

Ceylon Teachers’ Union General Secretary Joseph Stalin urges the Sri Lankan government to find the solutions for their demands in today’s cabinet meeting. Meanwhile, Stalin says that the union action will continue if the Sri Lankan government failed to meet their demands.

“We cannot continue with online teaching without the provision of facilities from the ministry,” he said. Therefore, we have decided to continue with our trade union action.

“If a favourable cabinet decision is announced, the trade union action will be called off from tomorrow. If not, we will continue. The responsibility for the inconvenience caused by the trade union action to the children should be borne by the government. The government should not pass the demands from one cabinet meeting to another, “Mr. Stalin said.
