A protest was held today against the attempt to grab private land for the Karkovalam Sri Lankan military camp under the Jaffna’s Paruthithurai Divisional Secretary Division.
The protestors had said that they would not allow surveyors and officials who had come to carry out surveys.
Following the protest, the government’s land surveyors called off the survey.
Member of Parliament Selvarasa Gajendran, former MP M K Sivajilingam, Tamil National People’s Front legal advisor N Kaandeepan, members of Paruthithurai Pradeshiya Sabha and the local people have attended this protest.
