Despite tight security arrangements across North and East on Independence Day, Jaffna University students today (04) hoisted black flag in Jaffna University main entrance.
University students were barred from entering the university as they attempted to park their vehicles at the university in support of the Independence Day protest organized by civil society in Mullivaikkal and those entering the Parameswara temple were barred by Sri Lankan security officials.
Meanwhile, the students declared Independence Day as Black Day and hoisted a black flag at the main gate.
