Former Northern Provincial Council member Durairasa Ravikaran has urged the Lanka Mineral Sands Ltd to release 44 acres of land belonging to Tamil people in Kokkilai, Mullaitivu, Northern Province.
The state-owned Lanka Mineral Sands Ltd has occupied the Tamils’ lands and constructed a wire fence to establish an Ilmenite factory in Mullaitivu-Kokklai East.
“The Lanka Mineral Sands Ltd has occupied the native lands of our Tamils in the eastern part of Kokklai. Immediate action should be taken to release the lands,” Ravikaran urged.
