Sri Lankan government has suspended inter-provincial bus and train services until August 1 from tomorrow, Sri Lankan Transport State Minister Dilum Amunugama said.
Earlier, inter-provincial buses and trains were permitted to operate their services for essential services.
But it was found that more people other than the essential service attendees were using the transport services disregarding health guidelines, Daily Mirror reported.
The State Minister said permission granted to operate a limited number of buses and trains between provinces to facilitate essential service workers.
