Sri Lankan President to meet ITAK

Sri Lankan President Gotabaya Rajapaksa is to meet ITAK on Tuesday March 15 2022, TNA MP S. Rasamanickam told Parliament today.

“If the government fails to come up with a solution to the ethnic issue, we will never be able to revive the country’s economy,” Mr. Rasamanickam said.

“Devaluation of the rupee will have an adverse effect on Sri Lankan students studying abroad as they will have to find more rupees to convert into dollars to settle their education fees,” the MP said.

After he assumed duty he did not meet Tamil parties as he repeatedly said that he is a president for Sinhala people.

Meanwhile, Former President Maithripala Sirisena said that the people are preparing to revolt as they cannot bear the burden of the cost of living.

“With the sudden increase of oil prices last night, the country is facing more and more tragedies. People are preparing to revolt as they cannot bear the burden of the cost of living,” the former President said addressing a meeting in the south.
