Sri Lankan Police question Tamil journalist in Batticaloa

Batticaloa District Tamil Journalists Union Treasurer and independent journalist Punyamoorthy Sasikaran was today questioned by the Sri Lankan Police Crime Branch at Batticaloa.

The police carried out the inquiry regarding the tribute event to Indian fishermen killed last January, Sasikaran said.

He says I had attended this event as a journalist, but
the investigations were conducted in the prediction that I had coordinated the tribute event for Indian fishermen.

Last January, four fishermen from Tamil Nadu reportedly died after their boat collided with a Sri Lankan Navy vessel.
