Sri Lankan FM visits to India ahead of UNHRC meeting

Sri Lankan Foreign Minister Prof. G.L. Peiris will leave for India on tomorrow (6) for a two-day visit, Colombo sources said.

He would hold talks with Indian External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval.

India has offered more financial help to Sri Lanka in recent times and saved Sri Lana from current economic crisis. A credit line of US 1 billion has been offered to purchase essential food items and pharmaceuticals from India.

Meanwhile, a Colombo based political circle said that he is going to push India to water down the United Nation human rights council activities in Geneva which is scheduled to commence end of this month.
