Sri Lankan Army occupied 4000+ acres of lands in Kilinochchi: Tamil MP Shritharan letter to UN Human Rights Chief

In a letter to United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Michelle Bachelet, Tamil Parliamentarian Sivagnanam Shritharan said that the Sri Lankan Army occupied 4374.8 acres of government and private land in Kilinochchi district alone.

He further said that land grabs are occurring under the guise of archaeological excavations, forest preservation sanctuaries, and bird sanctuaries and are often carried out by the Mahaweli Authority, Archaeology dept, forest dept, wildlife dept and many others.
