The Sri Lankan Police has arrested 31 persons under COVID19 restrictions for conducting a protest near Colombo.
The convener of the Inter University Students Federation Rathkarawwe Jinaratana Thera and the Secretary of the Teachers’ Union Joseph Stalin were among the arrested persons, the Sri Lankan Police Media Spokesperson Senior DIG Ajith Rohana said.
They were arrested for holding a protest violating quarantine regulations at the Polduwa roundabout in Battaramulla this morning (July 08), he said.
