Sri Lanka: Families of disappeared protest across North-East

Tamil families of the disappeared persons in Sri Lanka carried out a protest in the Northern and Eastern parts of Sri Lanka.

The protesters are demanding justice and international action for their forcibly disappeared family members. The protest was held at Jaffna, Kilinochchi, Vavuniya, Mullaitivu, Batticaloa.

According to the estimates, Sri Lanka has one of the world’s highest number of enforced disappearances, with a backlog of between 60,000 and 100,000 disappearances since the late 1980s.
