SL Army Commander opens Covid-19 centre for Buddhist monks

While the number of Covid-19 cases and deaths have seen a remarkable increase and the health authorities are struggling with an overload of cases at hospitals, the Sri Lankan government are arranging special treatment for Buddhist monks. 

According to the Daily Mirror, Sri Lanka first COVID-19 intermediate Treatment Centre for Buddhist monks was opened today by Army Commander Shavendra Silva. The International Vipassana Meditation Centre in Colombo, which was converted into a treatment centre has the capacity of accommodating 84 monks.
