Following the incidents of alleged rape, sexual abuse, and death of a teenage domestic worker, the Sri Lankan Police has arrested the wife of former Minister Rishad Bathiudeen, his father-in-law and brother-in-law.
A broker who had introduced the child to the family was also arrested over a 16-year-old teenage girl’s death.
Meanwhile, the minister’s brother-in-law was arrested over allegations of sexually abusing a 22-year-old domestic worker at the residence of the MP between 2015-2019. The girl had claimed she was sexually abused twice by the minister’s brother-in-law, Colombo Gazette reported.
The postmortem into the death of a teenage girl employed at Rishad Bathiudeen’s residence in Colombo revealed signs of chronic vaginal penetration, according to the Sri Lankan Police spokesman.
