Advancing the protection and political representation of minority group in Sri Lanka is a priority for the United States, Lisa Peterson, acting assistant secretary of the United States, Department of Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights and Labour said in her twitter page.
We met with Tamil national alliance and Global Tamil forum to discuss ongoing human rights issues in Sri Lanka and ways to strengthen engagement with diaspora communities, she added.
