Occupied Tamil homeland commemorates Thileepan’s death anniversary

The 34th death anniversary of Thiyagatheepam Thileepan’s was commemorated at Sri Lankan occupied Tamil homeland yesterday.

Tamil National Alliance’s MP Sivagnanam Shirtharan has paid tributes to Thileepan in a specially arranged memorial event at Kilinochchi.

Tamil National People’s Front leader MP Gajendrakumar Ponnambalam, Former MP Selvarajah Kajendran, Advocate Kanagaratnam Sukas have paid their homage to Thileepan amid Sri Lankan intelligence officials threats at Jaffna.

Thirty-four years ago, LTTE’s Lt Col. Thiyagatheepam Thileepan began his hunger strike on September 15th at Jaffna’s Nallur Kandaswamy Temple in protest against the failure of the Indian government to honour the pledges made to the Tamil people.
