Sri Lanka’s Police Chief C. D. Wickramaratne said the criminal investigations on Easter Sunday bombings are confidentially taking place.
In a special statement on Wednesday (25), the Inspector General of Police C. D. Wickramaratne, said that there was no proper coordination between the respective divisions of the CID that investigated the attacks at the preliminary stage.
He further says that CID detectives have assumed that most of the attackers are dead, all those connected have been arrested, and all property has been seized, to conclude the investigations in haste.
According to the IGP’s statement, 723 suspects were arrested, 311 remain in custody. In addition, 100,000 phone conversations have been investigated and Rs. 365 Mn in cash and assets have been confiscated so far.
