Eight persons were seriously injured in a sword attack by masked gang at Kondavil in Kopay, Jaffna last night, the Sri Lankan police said.
Local report says that the gang gathered near a studio in Kondavil and started attacking the men with swords and machetes.
According to the police, the gang cuts off the hands of some persons and ran away after setting fire to a three-wheeler and a car, causing severe damage to the studio.
The injured were admitted to the Intensive Care Unit of the Jaffna Teaching Hospital with serious wounds. The Police launched an investigation to identify and arrest the suspects.
