“#Tamil journalist Punniyamoorthy Sasikaran of #Batticaloa District Tamil Journalists Association, was questioned by Police Special Crime Branch officers at Batticaloa SSP ofce for over an hour, Tuesday (14), for the 3rd time in 3 months,” Journalists for Democracy in Sri Lanka (JDS) tweeted.
“Last month, after being questioned for 2 hours, I told media that I fear I might get arrested as I was constantly summoned by police crime branch. Today I was questioned about that particular statement. Such inquiries have become a major obstacle for free press” Journalist Sasikaran told JDS.
