International inquiry needed into surrendering children: Tamil MP Gajendran

The children handed over to the Sri Lankan army during the final phases of the war in 2009 were disappeared while President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa served as defence secretary, Tamil Parliamentarian Selvarasa Gajendran said. He further called for the international inquiry into surrendering children.

“We need the justice for the people who killed, disappeared after handed them over to the Sri Lankan Army. Sri Lankan government should reveal that what has happened to them?”

“The President, who recently visited the US, posted a picture on social media that he enjoyed lifting his grandchild there. But in Sri Lanka, the fathers of the missing children are still living in tears and searching for their children,” MP Selvarasa Gajendran said while speaking at the Sri Lankan Parliament.
