Indian Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla assured that India remains committed to the aspirations of the Tamils of Sri Lanka for “equality, justice, peace and dignity” within a united Sri Lanka.
Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla made this assurance while meeting Tamil politicians and others in Jaffna yesterday. Gopal Baglay, Indian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka, Rakesh Natraj, Consul General of India in Jaffna, was also part of this meeting.
Governor of the Northern Province P.S.M. Charles, Chairman of Northern Provincial Council C.V.K. Sivagnanam, Northern Provincial Educational Ministry Secretary Ilangovan, Member of Parliament Gajendrakumar Ponnambalam, Former MP M.K.Sivajilingam, Suresh Premachandran, Jaffna Mayor Mannivannan, and political analysts Ganesalingam, Nilanthan, Jaffna Chamber of Commerce president Jeyasegaram, Jaffna University vice-chancellor Professor Srisarkunaraja had attended this meeting with Indian Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla.

Officials from Civil Aviation Authority briefed F.S. about the development & rehabilitation of Palaly Airport,” the Indian High Commission in Sri Lanka tweeted earlier on October 03.
“Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla visited the iconic Jaffna Cultural Centre built with Indian grant assistance. The iconic, state of the art cultural centre will help ppl of Northern Province reconnect with their roots and in nurturing our shared cultural heritage,” the Indian H.C. tweeted.
