India is a lifeline for Sri Lanka -Jaishankar

India’s External Affairs Minister, Dr. S. Jaishankar, declared his nation not just a regional leader but a crucial lifeline for its neighbors, particularly Sri Lanka during its recent economic crisis.

Jaishankar highlighted India’s unwavering support for Sri Lanka, stating, “While the rest of the world, including other institutions, were debating what to do, it was actually India that stepped forward.”

He emphasized India’s extended hand as “what made a critical difference at Sri Lanka’s darkest moment.” This swiftness and reliability paint India as a dependable regional ally.

Jaishankar’s message went beyond immediate financial assistance. He underscored India’s role in Sri Lanka’s long-term development, citing ongoing infrastructure projects like railway lines and power grid connectivity.
