Growing foreign exchange crisis: Sri Lanka approves 180 days visa facility for tourists

The Sri Lankan Government has approved 180 days tourist visa facility for foreigners visiting Sri Lanka.

The approval will be granted for tourists requesting visas application process through the ‘Online Electronic Tourist Visa Activation System (ETA)’ implemented by the Department of Emigration and Immigration and through the Sri Lanka Tourist Mobile App, Daily Mirror reported.

The Sri Lankan Government, led by war criminal Gotabaya Rajapaksa, has actively been looking to boost its economy through tourism as it faces a severe foreign exchange crisis.

The Sri Lankan government has recently signed loan agreements with China ($308 million) and Bangladesh ($250 million) to manage the crisis.
