A mother who was searching for her son who was enforced disappeared died in Vavuniya yesterday (21) due to illness.
The mother has been identified as Karuppaiya Ramai (78) of Kalmadu, Poompuhar, Vavuniya. Her adopted son R. Indrapalan (38) was abducted in Vavuniya in 2007 and disappeared in a white van.
The mother had been involved in the ongoing hunger strike in Vavuniya for the past 1799 days in search of him and had struggled to find her son.
