Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Member of Indian Parliament Subramanian Swamy said, that it is evident now that China is heading towards a full-blown war with India, citing recent boarder tensions between the two nuclear-armed countries and a power outage in Mumbai with Chinese hackers issuing a warning; “Don’t push us too hard, or the lights will go out again.”
During his brief visit to the Sri Lanka last week, he gave a closed door lecture on “National Security in the 21st Century” with the select audience consisting of Sri Lankan military chiefs, defence officials and members of the diplomatic corps.
Swamy is a controversial figure for his anti-minority rhetoric, particularly against Tamils and Muslims that forced the prestigious Harvard University, where once he taught economics to drop his courses.
