China has expanded its foot into Sri Lankan Hill Country as an agreement is reached between Kandy Municipal council and Qingdao in the People’s Republic of China.
The agreement was signed by Zhao Haozhi, Mayor of Qingdao, China and Kesara Senanayake, Mayor of Kandy, via Zoom on yesterday (15). Chinese Ambassador to Sri Lanka Qi Zhenhong also participated in the event.
The two cities of the two nations are set to work together on a number of areas, including economic affairs, technological know-how, educational scholarships, cultural and religious affairs and sports.
This event shows that the Sinhalese has a broad knowledge in political and current geopolitical affairs compared to rival Tamils who are only stick with India and West without any benefits for their people, a political analyst said to Quest.
