Vijayabalan Mathiyalakan, a young Tamil police officer attached to the Ottawa Police, was killed in a motorcycle accident in Ottawa on Tuesday (14) night.
Vijay, 28, previously served in the Canadian Army before joining the police force. Vijay joined the Ottawa Police in November 2020.
Vijay, who has partnered with a charity for women, has been volunteering to provide home-use items for newcomers to Canada.
