Belarus to support educational reforms in Sri Lanka

The Belarusian Education Minister said that their government would give its full support to the educational reforms in Sri Lanka, the Daily mirror reported.

The decision was announced during a discussion held with Sri Lankan Education Minister Susil Premajayantha during his official visit to Belarus.

During the meeting, Minister Premajayantha told the Belarusian Education Minister, Andrei Ivanets, that a large number of young people from Sri Lanka have entered Belarusian universities to pursue their higher education.

Minister Premajayantha explained the facts regarding the updating of school and university syllabi in Sri Lanka to match the contemporary educational methods.

The education also reminded that a large number of Sri Lankan medical students are studying in Belarus, and the future welfare of these students was also discussed at length.

Meanwhile, attention was paid to the draft related to signing a memorandum of understanding between the Belarusian and the Sri Lankan Education Ministries.
